Adult Christian Education

Adult Formation on Sunday mornings is guided by Fr. Ben , Janet Irwin and Suzanne Warner .  This group will look at personal, community, national, and world issues to see how their understanding of these issues is influenced by their faith and their church.  Topics range from images of God and the concept of salvation, to issues of poverty, race, war and violence, and the environment.  Class discussion and outside speakers enrich the exchange and remind us that how each one of us lives out our commitment to Christ makes a difference in the world.

Other opportunities for adults to share their faith and get to know one another better are Education For Mi nistry (EFM); the book group, Marys and Marthas; and the Wednesday evening group.  St. Andrew’s EFM Group meets on Tuesday evening at 6:00 pm and includes members from several parishes.  This four year program covers the Old and New Testaments and the history and traditions of the Church.  Contact Suzanne Warner for information about EFM.        The Marys and Marthas meet once a month for a potluck supper and discussion of a current book.  Contact Sandie Griffin for information on their next book and meeting times.  For adults the culmination of our Wednesday evening program involves a careful reading of the lections for the coming Sunday.
