The Rev. Ben Maas came to St. Andrew’s in July 2004 as an interim and was called to be our rector the following May. Ben previously served as the assistant rector of St. James's Episcopal Church in Pewee Valley, Kentucky. He is a graduate of the University of Virginia and Virginia Theological Seminary. Ben and his wife Anna love living and working in the Highlands. They have a son, Elliott, born May 27, 2005, and a daughter, Lauralee, born September 18, 2007, both of whom you may often see traipsing up and down Woodbourne Avenue.

   
   
                    
Bridgettbandw_thumb   Bridgett Hard, born in Louisville, attended UofL  obtaining and associate degree in Sociology.  She  worked for Humana Inc. for 10 years--last 7 as a Regulatory Project Manager.   She met her husband Rob at Humana.  They have 2 children, Spencer and Katey and now reside in New Albany.
      
    
Martha Holland, Children's Minister In 1991, after 20 years of travel courtesy of the US Army, Martha settled in Elizabethtown with her husband, Archie, a retired Master Sergeant, and their two sons, Robert and Casey. When the boys went off to college she decided to pursue her interest in Christian Education and earned her BA in Theology from Bellarmine University in 2006. She has been the Children’s Minister at Saint Andrew’s since 2002.

   

                            

David Brown, Music Director David is the founding director of the Youth Performing Arts School Vocal Music Department and is the conductor of Stephen Foster - the Musical in Historic Bardstown, KY. He has many years of experience as a soloist, conductor and private teacher.

     

          

              
 
Marci Dickinson, Organist and Handbell Dierctor Born in California, Marci studied piano and flute but had no interest in learning to play the organ until she started college at Modesto Junior College and was forced into the organ class by her mother and the Music Department Chairman whose wife taught the organ class. The college had a pipe organ so it was a new and defining experience. Marci went on to study at Indiana University earning a Bachelor of Music Education degree in flute and a Master of Music degree in church music and organ. Marci and her husband Jay have one son, David, He and his wife reside in Charleston, S.C.

                       

     

Ruthbandw_thumb Ruth Kempf,  Bookkeeper St. Andrew's shares Ruth Kempf with St. Matthew's Episcopal as our new bookkeeper.  Ruth has three grown children, and lives in this area.  Her favorite pastimes are gardening,quilting and  ceramics. Ruth attended Bellarmine University and is a graduate of Spalding University with a degree in Business Administration.  She joined the staff here in February 2007

      

      

Abel Martinez-Orrego, Sexton: I came to the United States from Cuba in June of 2001 and became a United States citizen on December 22, 2006.  I have a beautiful wife and daughter in Cuba who are now happily preparing to join me this year.  I am a graduate of St. Alejandro Art School in Havana and hope to continue my art career.  I am currently employed at Axton Company as well as St. Andrew’s since 2002.  I love Louisville and am glad to call it my home now.
